Thanks for the Memories

If on your way out of The Shops at Mission Viejo you find your morning retail binge didn't leave you with warm fuzzies (or if it left you with buyer's remorse), look no further for an afternoon delight. As you make your way outside through the "dining veranda" exit, you are saluted with a goodbye goodie in the form of an elevated pineapple.

Oh How Grand

A mall food court is perhaps one of the last places you'd expect to see such a work of art, but standing over 8 feet tall in the midst of scarfing shoppers is this grandiose pineapple. As the decorative focal point at The Shops of Mission Viejo food court, this metal pineapple is a spectacular sight.

Hello Kitty

On a recent trip to the Build-A-Bear Workshop at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, Calif., one apparel option far outshined the others. Gloriously displayed on a back wall, the Hello Kitty outfit was not only fashionable because of the icon herself, but because her stunning ensemble included a pineapple as a must-have accessory. Additionally, two mini plush pineapples were attached to the set's red skirt.

Japanese Treat

On August 3, diners at a Benihana restaurant in Anaheim, Calif., were treated with a treat to celebrate a colleague's birthday. No cupcake with a candle here. Instead, the teppan-goer was presented with a slice of fresh pineapple bedecked with a mini green umbrella and a bright red cherry. Now that's much sweeter.

Pineapple Salsa

On a summer Sunday near the end of July, a bounty of Hawaiian Plantations Pineapple Salsa was on display at Tom's Farms in Corona, Calif.

Starbucks' Mango Pineapple Empanada

These mango pineapple empanadas were spotted at a Fullerton, Calif., Starbucks on July 12. Weighing in on the price scales at just under $2, these goodies seem to have been snatched up fast. Few have been seen since, as they were available for a limited time only.

"Starbucks also has filled a pastry crust empanada with an exotic combination of mango and pineapple, for a sweet rendition of this traditionally savory snack."—Starbucks

Decorative Liquid Soap Pump

Don't be fooled by the price sticker. Although it describes the item as "palm" in reference to a palm tree, clearly this is a pineapple piece in disguise. Found in a Brea, Calif., Walmart, this lotion (or liquid soap) pump was priced at $6.96 when spotted on July 8.

Pink Pineapple

This pink pineapple is one of Campaign Founder Elle Gordon's favorite photos from her visit to the Dole Plantation in October 2006.

Campaign Kickoff

The Campaign for Pineapples officially kicked off in October 2006, with festivities held at the Dole Plantation on the beautiful island of Oahu. Campaign for Pineapples Founder Elle Gordon (right), along with friend and fashionista Kelly Rae, were among the many supporters who made appearances that day.
